Non-Photography Day: July 17th

Posted by Ben in General, Photojournalism

Non-Photography Day

“Celebrate the moment, don’t document it!” is the slogan of Brighton, UK artist Becca Bland who is trying to establish July 17th (why then?) as Non-Photography Day - a day to put down your cameras and live life outside the viewfinder.
The impetus behind it is a touch Zen-orientated, but there’s definitely some truth in the idea that permanently seeing the world through a viewfinder can result in missing out on other experiences. See also the BBC story about it

Hmmmm, I think Ms Bland could be somewhat lacking in any commissions at the moment. What utter twaddle.
