APTN Video Reports

Occasionally when I am on assignment I make TV/Video reports for Associated Press Television News (APTN). I shoot with a small Sony DV handicam, edit in Pinnacle Studio, compress the file in MPEG2 format, and transmit to APTN’s headquarters in London via ftp, where it gets re-transmitted around the world by satellite for use by TV channels. These are not designed to polished packages for public viewing, but essentially edited footage ready for TV channels to use as they see fit.

Here is a television news report for APTN that I made around the visit of UNHCR High Commissioner Ruud Lubbers
to the conflict-stricken Darfur region of Sudan in September and October 2004.
